Stand up to attacks on Protest on campus: Over the last couple weeks we have seen fresh attacks on the right to protest on campus. These include the arrest of ULU President Michael Chessum (http://www.independent.co.uk/
This weeks successful strike action by 3COSAS staff (one of the groups clearly targeted by the ULU protest ban), important concessions won by B’ham students in court, and the reoccupation of Sussex University this week against privatisation (site of the protest ban last academic year), show these attacks can be taken on. We will be launching a campaign around these issues. In the meantime please add your name to the open letter launched by staff and students against the victimization of Michael Chessum here: http://www.

PLEASE DONATE: DTRTP is finding itself involved in, and supporting, an increasing number of campaigns. To do that effectively we need funds. All of our resources come from donations at a grass roots level. Please help us by making a one off or regular donation. Every amount big or small helps. A monthly donation of £5, for example, can pay for printed materials for a major defence campaign in the course of a year. Here is a fundraising flyer which details where your money goes. http://www.
