Fundraiser for Jonnie Marbles, August 10
Wednesday, August 10 · 5:00pm - 8:00pm
JONNIE MARBLES FUNDRAISER FILMNIGHT. £4 suggested donation.
Under the Westway, basically on Portobello Road (by Ladbroke Grove station, 10 min walk from Notting Hill Gate station) there is an open air cinema here for the summer! http://www.portobellopopup.com/
Next Wednesday we’ve been kindly allowed to host a fundraiser for Jonnie Marbles, who has £500 court costs. Whatever you think of Jonnie’s actions, the poor sod’s in jail and broke! We should always fight against harsh political punishments, an injury to one is an injury to all! Also Jonnie’s basically unemployed and with a 9 year old son, the least we can do it help out with his court costs.

Court costs have been reported as being £250 (plus £15 fine), how come there’s a difference between that and the amount being raised at the fundraiser? I’ve been promoting the fundraiser but someone has asked me this.
Not sure - the organisers may have included other costs (travel, legal advice). I’m sure if they manage to make more than enough to cover Jonnie’s fine the money will go somewhere useful, though.
Is there any way for those of us that don’t live in London to donate to this appeal?
