A demonstration will be held in the morning outside Parliament at Old Palace Yard London SW1 from 10.30am against the attacks on legal aid. The demo has been called by Lawyers who are speaking out against what is, effectively, an attack on publicly funded criminal defence services.
For this demonstration to be effective, we need as many people to attend as possible in a show of strength and unity against the Government’s proposals.
“In 2007 a similar demo attracted considerable media attention. Interviews were conducted on Radio 4, Radio 5 live, BBC lunchtime news, ITN and BBC evening news. We wish to attract similar media attention.
Old Palace Yard is next to the green where the press congregates and conducts their interviews. It is on the doorstep of some of those we seek to influence and unlike the last time we are allowed to use megaphones during speeches !!
Make sure YOU play your part in showing the strength of feeling against these flawed and dangerous proposals by attending Parliament and encouraging others LAWYERS AND NON LAWYERS, to join us at 10.30 on 22 May !!”
